CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (March 24, 2026) – Registration is now open for Charlotte County Government Academy, a free, one‑day program scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29. The academy offers a full day of presentations highlighting the programs and services provided by departments under the Board of County Commissioners.
Participants will gain insight into public works, transit, human services, parks, utilities, community development and more. The program is designed for anyone interested in learning more about how local government functions.
Government Academy will be held at Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd., Port Charlotte. There is no cost to attend.
