CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2026) - Charlotte County Economic Development is highlighting Zack Mutnik through its 40 Under 40 feature, part of the Careers on the Coast program. The program shares the stories of young professionals who are building careers, businesses and community connections in Charlotte County.
Mutnik is a U.S. Navy veteran and owner of Mutt’s Electric, formerly Jeff Masters Electric. After five years in the Navy, where he served as a gas turbine electrician, Mutnik continued building his technical experience before pursuing his goal of business ownership.
Mutnik and his wife, Brittany, left South Florida and moved across the state to purchase Jeff Masters Electric, an established electrical contracting company in Charlotte County. The company is now transitioning to Mutt’s Electric, a veteran- and family-owned, full-service electrical contractor serving Charlotte County and Southwest Florida.
For Mutnik, building the business has also meant building a team and creating opportunities for others. He has focused on developing a workplace where employees are respected, challenged to grow and encouraged to build long-term careers.
“We want people to build careers here, not just have jobs,” Mutnik said.
Mutnik’s story reflects the opportunities Charlotte County offers young professionals, veterans and entrepreneurs who are looking for a place to build both a career and a life.
