As part of the CMP, Community Services is conducting structural assessments on all piers, boardwalks, seawalls and boat ramps; through this assessment process it was bought to CS attention that Riverside Boat Ramp provides immediate safety concerns. During the site analysis the engineer determined the ramp could not be repaired in place; this project will be to design a replacement ramp that alleviates the safety issues.

Design and construction of a new 62,000-square-foot Law Enforcement Administrative Headquarters for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. This modern facility will be located on County-owned land adjacent to the existing District 3 Headquarters and the Impound, Evidence, and Forensics Facility, bringing multiple law enforcement services together into one coordinated campus.
The new headquarters will replace the current leased building, which was originally repaired after Hurricane Charley and remains vulnerable to severe weather. The upgraded facility will meet the needs of a modern, growing law enforcement agency by providing safer, more efficient, and more resilient space for deputies and staff to serve the community. It will also include a new Emergency 911 Communications Center, ensuring reliable emergency response during critical events.
Sheriff Jail Admin Renovation (with Kitchen and Laundry)

This project will renovate and modernize the Jail Kitchen and Laundry facilities to improve operational efficiency, user-friendliness, and compliance with commercial standards. Work includes redesigning the kitchen layout, upgrading equipment, evaluating options for relocating adjacent administrative space, and improving workflow within both the kitchen and laundry areas. The project will also address aged infrastructure and incorporate design solutions that enhance safety, functionality, and long-term maintainability within the facility.
South County Annex Replacement

The current Annex has reached the end of life, and stands in a high risk flood zone. The project will include master planning the current and future needs of stakeholders as well as site feasibility to determine the best location for a new building. The primary function of the South County Annex is to serve the regional community with governement services that include the Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections and Board of County Commissioners.
